Motivational Poster Project

Process: I took a picture I thought to be inspirational and put it into photoshop. Then I took several other pictures and incorporated them into the final image. I cut the background out of the other picture and brought them into photoshop. I put in a fellow skier, helicopter, and two matching snowmobiles. I also added an inspirational quote from thinkexist.com. I also used a cutting tutorial. The image for the cutting tutorial is located as the third picture under this paragraph. This tutorial helped me outline exactly what i want to put in m final image. It saved me a lot of time during the whole process.  Finally, I added a font that is used on many inspirational poster, which enhanced the affect it has on people.

Logo Advice

Initial:  For this logo, I used two different fonts. Also, i added a box filled with red coloring. All I wanted was something simple, yet creative. I wanted this to pop out to your eye. What do you think? What don't you like? How can i improve?

Name: For this logo, I also used two different fonts. I chose to put my last name in bigger bolder letters because i thought it was more important. However i used small, brighter letters to input my first name so it would pop. I wanted for this logo to express my last name, but also              say my first name.  What do you think? What dont you like? How can i improve?

Symbol: For this logo, I used the skiing symbol for volkl, incase you didn't know. The Volkl symbol can be two Ws (one upside down and one  right side up.) I added the E because, well it resembles my initials WE. I wanted this volkl because i love to ski. What do you think? What dont you like? How can i improve?

Project Description: Mr boothby explained how to do most of this by "taking" our computers and actually explaining and going step by step to show us what to do. We created stacked text,  and many other forms of letters to form words and other objects.

New Skills, Processes, and Tools Learned: I used many tools, such as different fonts and colors and live trace. Live Trace was very interesting in the way it turned photos into shapes and we can cut out anything we wanted.

Self Reflections: I did a good job on this, however i did not understand how to do the figure-ground reversal. I asked my friends to help me but they were busy doing other things. I know it looks really bad, and it is really bad, but i tried and i didn't understand it at all. This was very hard for me to do.

Illustrator Days 8-12

Project Description: In this project,  I created various designs and shapes using the illustrator tools. I didn't use any tutorials because Mr. Boothby explained it to us.

New Skills, Processes, and Tools Learned: I learned how to use swatches to a level new. Also, I experienced to use gradient most by myself this time, with a minuscule amount of help with this tool from my classmates. I also used the pen tool again.

Self Reflection: I honestly believe this is one one the better projects that i did. I completed most of it by myself with a little help from my friends. I did have a little trouble with some aspects of this project, but overall I thought i did well.

Part/Proj: 9/10: I believe i completed this assignment, without much help. I was proud of myself for completing most of this alone. Overall I thought this was a good project for me.

Illustrator shapes

Project Description: In this project, I made it in Adobe Illustrator. I used two main tools, the shapes tool and the pen tool, and one figure was drawn with the pencil tool. I used a tutorial on www.vectordiary.com which was very helpful. I drew the square, oval, circle, rectangle, triangle, pentagon, and star with the shapes tool. However, I drew the key, puzzle piece, shamrock, leaf, clover, rabbit, thought bubble, and dog bone with the pen tool.

New Skill, Processes & Tools Leaned: I learned how to created different shapes and objects using various tools in Illustrator. I learned about the pencil, pen, and shape tools during the course of this project. The process I used, followed as the tutorial said.

Self Reflection: Personally, I thought I did a decent job on this project, once I got the hang of using the tools.

Project Participation: After figuring out how to used the tools well, I began to do it better. Chris Haralampoudis helped me out, because he was doing it very well and picking it up quickly. 8/10
